Meet Your Partner in Wellness

Functional Nutritionist | Gut Health Specialist | Root Cause Practitioner

Hi there, I’m Dr. Ashley Stalmack, and I’m so glad you’re here. As a functional nutritionist with a focus on digestive health, I help individuals uncover the root causes of symptoms like bloating, fatigue, hormonal imbalance, and skin issues—so they can feel better from the inside out.

My journey began in my teens when I chose a vegetarian lifestyle without fully understanding nutrition. That led to challenges with weight, cystic acne, and mood—compounded by overuse of antibiotics and a damaged gut. Frustrated with conventional care, I studied biology at Michigan State and took a natural, whole-body approach to healing. Today, I combine science with experience to guide others through lasting, meaningful change.

Functional Medicine Process at Renew

STEP 1: Initial Consultation

Your healing journey begins with a 60‑minute virtual consultation.

During this session, Dr. Ashley will dive into your medical history, symptoms, and health goals.

She’ll assess whether her approach aligns with your needs and present a personalized plan—outlining recommended lab testing and estimated program costs.

STEP 2: Advanced Lab Testing

We utilize comprehensive lab panels—such as GI‑MAP and/or GI Spotlight stool testing and hormone or nutrient panels—to dig deeper than standard labs.
Why choose lab testing?

  • Cutting‑edge technology for precise results

  • Targets root causes, not just symptoms

  • Enables early detection and proactive care

  • Tracks your progress over time

  • Empowers informed, personalized decision-making

Your test results will inform a refined treatment plan tailored to your biochemistry and health goals.

STEP 3: Begin Your Treatment Plan

Most clients launch into a 4–6‑month initial program, designed around your unique needs. Here’s what to expect:

  • Frequency: Typically every 2 weeks for 1–2 months, then monthly check-ins

  • Focus: Lifestyle, nutrition, mindset, and targeted supplementation

  • Support: Detailed meal plans, supplement protocols via Fullscript, stress tools, and ongoing education

This program is crafted to promote healing, restore balance, and build sustainable habits.

STEP 4: Maintenance Care

Stomach and GI care

Once your initial program is complete, we transition into maintenance care to help you stay on track. This phase is designed to support long-term wellness by monitoring progress, addressing any new concerns, and reinforcing the habits you've built.

Most patients benefit from 2–3 virtual check-ins per year, where we review your health, update your supplement plan, and make proactive adjustments. It’s a simple, effective way to stay consistent and prevent setbacks as your health continues to evolve.

ADVANCED LAB TESTING

Which gut test is right for you?

Both tests look at what’s going on in your gut—things like bacteria, digestion, inflammation, and signs of infection—but they do it a little differently.

GI Spotlight

Box of GI Spotlight, a kit for functional GI molecular stool analysis by qPCR, with logo, text, and green wave design.

GI Spotlight is an excellent option if you're beginning your gut health journey or experiencing mild to moderate symptoms such as bloating, food sensitivities, brain fog, fatigue, or irregular bowel movements.

This test evaluates your gut microbiome, identifying imbalances in good and bad bacteria, yeast, and parasites. It also checks for key digestive markers, immune activity (like secretory IgA and calprotectin), and includes zonulin, a critical marker for intestinal permeability—often referred to as “leaky gut.”

The GI Spotlight is especially helpful for those looking to understand how diet, stress, and lifestyle may be affecting their digestion. Results are presented in a clear, visual format that’s easy to interpret and act on.

GI Map

GI-MAP is best suited for individuals dealing with more persistent or complex concerns such as IBS, IBD, chronic inflammation, skin conditions, autoimmune issues, or hormone imbalances.

It uses advanced PCR DNA technology to detect a wide range of organisms including harmful bacteria, parasites, viruses, yeast, and H. pylori—along with its virulence factors. The test also measures important functional markers like calprotectin, beta-glucuronidase, elastase, and occult blood to evaluate inflammation, detox capacity, and digestive function.

GI-MAP offers a more in-depth, clinically focused analysis, making it a powerful tool for identifying root causes and creating highly personalized care plans.
